Conversion of BIO storage and shipping silo
SCARA - Arcis sur Aube (10)
In order to meet the need for storage of organic cereals, SCARA chose to convert an old silo in Arcis-sur-Aube, in order to be able to collect and store grain from nearby organic crops.
The SCARA cooperative hired the engineering firm BALAZOT to manage this project. Following the call for tenders, CERES AGRO-INDUSTRIE won the contract for the "mechanical equipment, cleaning, dust removal, and ventilation" lots.
The rehabilitation of this old silo required a lot of work from our sales team and the design office to integrate the equipment which, in addition to meeting the space requirements, had to be adapted to the requirements of the organic sector:
- Products containing a greater amount of impurity than conventional cereals
- Materials with minimal retention in order to limit mixing as much as possible
Therefore, in order to meet these requirements, the equipment offered – such as shock absorbers, chain conveyors and their traps, elevator feet – is with minimal retention.
