ORGANIC CEREAL STORAGE AND WORKING SILO

SAS NORMANDIE ORGANIC GRAINS - MARCILLY LA CAMPAGNE

In order to develop its activity in terms of capacity, quality, flexibility and to meet the different market demands, the Norman company needed to create a new, modern, efficient and substantial tool for working with grain from organic farming. (organic cereals, oilseeds and legumes). She therefore approached the ACOORE design office for the design and project management of this complete and complex project with several phases of work. (Phase 1: Handling and storage tower, Phase 2: Sorting and packaging line, Phase 3: Drying, Phase 4: Milling).

Following a call for tenders from this independent design office, CERES AGRO-INDUSTRIE won the contract for the “mechanical equipment, ventilation and dust removal” lot.

All the experience of our technical teams (Technical sales representatives and design office technicians: designers, planners) was necessary to carry out the installation of the various equipment both in the work tower and in the ancillary buildings: handling, grain processing machines (scrubber, rotary cleaner, flat cleaner), gravity piping, ventilation, dust removal. Taking into account the main constraints of working with organic grains such as:

  • Products containing a higher quantity of impurities than in conventional agriculture,
  • Varied range of products to be received: cereals, oilseeds and legumes, such as wheat, einkorn, einkorn, einkorn, lentils, lentils, blond and brown flax, rye, triticale, peas, field beans, buckwheat, oats, quinoa, barley, camelina, etc.
  • Varieties intercropped and harvested with different maturities
  • Opportunities in human food

The numerous exchanges of plans (equipment installation, pipe layout, etc.) with the project manager, the client and the co-intervening companies: Structural work, metal structures, cell builder, etc., allowed anticipation of the implementation phase.

The industrial organization of the CERES AGRO-INDUSTRIES group then enabled its workshops to manufacture all of the mechanical equipment.

Finally, the strength of CERES MONTAGE, a CERES GROUPE company, made it possible to deploy the necessary human resources on site to meet the deadlines requested by NORMANDIE GRAINS BIO. Up to 12 fitters, led by two team leaders, worked simultaneously on site for a total period of 2 months.
