Port silo with complex connection network
Grain Center - Sète (Hérault)
The Centre Grain company, subsidiary ofAxereal was commissioned to study the redevelopment of a quay in the port area of the city of Sète. The intention was to demolish an old silo located near a tourist area in order to build two new units as well as a complex set of connections with flow rates of 400 to 800 t/h.
The two new units consisted of a concrete silo of 35 tonnes for the grain storage, and a 15-tonne metal flat bottom for the storage of oilcakes and oilseeds.
The mesh was composed of:
> a storage area with silage at 600 t/h and recovery at 800 t/h, by chain conveyor
> of a ship shipping connection at 800 t/h
> a 600 t/h ship unloading connection
> a 400 t/h barge unloading link
> a 600 t/h train unloading link
> a connection to the SAIPOL factory at 400 t/h
> a 400 t/h truck loading link
The teams CERES Agro-industry were massively mobilized to find solutions very fast in the implementation of the connections. A project launch in 2010 allowed 80% of the installations to be launched. At the beginning of 2011 on the extension of the quay (barges) the remaining 20% was completed.
Our specialists supervised the start-up, adjustments, training of the silo managers, they provided certain training and ensured their monitoring throughout the warranty period.
